The new building commissioned to the " Consortium Rethebrücke " with the participation of F + Z was one of the most important infrastructure projects in the Port of Hamburg.

With a span of approx. 104 m, the new movable bridges are available as two-part bascule bridges in steel construction.

In the massive and up to NN -13.0 m reaching Damper Pillars the Drive and control technology. For the removal of the high loads in the construction and final state the pillars made of reinforced concrete are founded to a depth of NN -41.0 m using injection piles. As the distance of the excavation pit wall to the existing structure did not exceed 3.0 m in some areas, the Within the scope of the execution, gentle installation methods for the construction of the building pit sheet pile wall were applied. Vibrations caused by impacting ramming were excluded and the use of of vibratory pile drivers were only approved for secondary components. The installation was carried out by adjusting the mixed sheet pile wall into a pre-drilled pipe. While the casing pipe was pulled, the Intermediate space was stabilized with a special hydraulic binder (liquid soil).

The use of a jack-up platform was essential for production in water. This was the only way to keep the the torque generated during the drilling and drawing process could be absorbed. The wall of the jack-up platform had to be specially reinforced for this application. The production was accompanied by extensive measurements.

The separate superstructures of the foreland bridges were constructed as steel structures (railway) or as VFT bridges (road). The landside bridge abutment connects to an existing flood protection wall. To this end, the flood protection had to be maintained for the entire construction period during the construction of the excavation pit wall and the abutment. With a span of approx. 104 m, the new movable bridges are available as two-part bascule bridges in steel construction.
